Celebrate World Ocean Day on 8th June

Friday, June 8th, 2018 is World Ocean Day. After the success of Blue Planet II, the UK has taken a keen interest in our relationship with the ocean and what can be done to improve the marine environment for sea creatures.

World Ocean Day for Schools is an initiative which encourages schools to get involved in this international celebration of our oceans, by hosting an assembly, planning an ocean lesson or even encouraging students to dress up as their favourite sea creature!

The Marine Conservation Society, World Wildlife Fund, The Wild Network, National Marine Aquarium, Thames Estuary Partnership, Marine Biological Association and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation have come together to produce a selection of resources available to both primary and secondary schools to kickstart a fun conversation between children, parents, teachers and communities about our relationship with the ocean.
