I am a poet with interests across the range of poetic styles, from slam to sonnet. My work has been widely published and won prestigious prizes.

I want more people to read, write and recite poems. I offer:

  • poetry readings of my own work
  • writing workshops for groups of students
  • individual feedback and coaching

I am happy to work with all ages, although poetry for younger groups can often be led successfully by school teaching staff. Year 7 students upwards is the age range particularly suited for my work. My input as a practicing and published poet will be more important for those pursuing an Arts Award, creative writing A level students, or those considering creative writing courses at university. I am a member of the National Association for Writers in Education.

“A big thank you for all your hard work and support at the two events last week … the feedback that we have had has been overwhelmingly glowing!” – Bedford Library Service

“The students enjoyed the session; engaging activities. Some students developed their own confidence in poetry” – St Thomas More Catholic School

Challenges by this provider

A Poetry reading will normally take about one hour, a writing workshop between one and three hours depending on the age of the participants and the goals of the workshop. One-to-one appraisal and feedback on 100 lines of poetry would be likely to take 1-2 hours. Starting a slam competition for your school might take several visits.
