With over twenty years of experience working with schools in the field of environmental education and as a storyteller, I can offer performance and workshop opportunities for schools through Wassledine’s ‘Storytelling in the Woods’. Over recent years I have been involved with Creative Partnership Projects, World Book Day and National Tree Week celebrations, enrichment weeks and school trips, habitat studies and story adventures, with schools in Bedfordshire and surrounding counties.

Where possible I like to use storytelling to explore environmental themes and our relationship to the natural world.

To promote the use of the outdoor classroom, I can offer storytelling workshops for primary schools, designed to develop children’s imaginative thinking, speaking and listening skills.

‘Nature’s Theatre’ workshops encourage children to re-tell stories they have heard, while ‘Fabulous Fibs’ and ‘Jack’s Pack’ workshops provide inspiration for children to tell their own stories and for creative writing.

I can give a storytelling performance to a whole school assembly or year group. With a wide repertoire of stories to tell, I can adapt performances to tie in with themes being covered in lessons or just come along with a mixed bag of traditional tales and silly stories.

‘Thank you for sharing such a lovely day with us. The children were inspired to produce some lovely stories. They really enjoyed it.’ – World Book Day project, Gravenhurst Academy

‘Thank you – the children loved your storytelling.’ – Storytelling performance for Science Week, Lark Rise Academy
