Arts Elevator – call for local artists and organisations

Are you an artist or creative organisation working in the Luton region looking to elevate your practice to the next level?

Arts Elevator is offering bespoke support for creative practitioners and organisations creating work that benefits Luton, and would love to work with people or groups who complement the diversity that exists in the town.

TestBeds Arts Elevator

Specifically they are looking for artists and organisations that are:

  • Working with people or groups who complement the diversity that exists in the town
  • Led by people who represent the diversity of town
  • Encouraging involvement and participation in the arts by members of different representative groups
  • Encouraging involvement and participation in the arts by members of under-represented groups

A bit of background

Unlike Accelerator and Catalyst, Arts Elevator is a condensed programme of activity to support local artists or arts organisations who work with or represent individuals with protected characteristics, under the Equality Act. The programme is designed to support individuals to develop the skills to write successful funding bids, business resilience, diversification of income and mentoring by partner organisations. The programme will result in all Arts Elevator artists applying for Arts Council funding, which is ring fenced through the Luton Investment Programme, and so will not be competing regionally for the funds.

This is a fantastic opportunity for those who have a strong artistic record, as well as artistic and/or business partnerships, but who need support with their knowledge of funding applications.

Luton-based artist Sophie Gresswell has benefited from the TestBeds programme and is one of our Cultural Providers. Find out about her creative practice where she works with community groups and young people on a wide range of exciting projects, from creating contemporary murals to delivering arts based workshops.
