After a major expansion project, MK Gallery is set to open in Spring 2019 and will include a brand-new performance space. To celebrate, MK Gallery are partnering with our cultural providers, MOTUS Dance and Milton Keynes Theatre, along with New Adventures, Matthew Bourne’s award-winning dance theatre company, to search for the city’s most exciting young dancers, choreographers and all-round movers and shakers!  

To enter, all you need to do is submit a one-minute video of you performing your dance – if shortlisted you’ll be invited to perform at a showcase event on Saturday 27 April 2019. The prize for the winner is an incredible opportunity to perform your dance at the MOTUS Festival and win a dance workshop for your school by Milton Keynes Theatre.  Read more about this exciting opportunity. 

The theme for the competition is Transformation…

To alter; to revamp; to revolutionise – these are just a few words that describe what it means to transform. MK Gallery is transforming and their appearance will alter as they work on creating new and exciting spaces for everyone to enjoy. They’re revamping the way they do things and their innovative programmes aim to revolutionise perceptions of culture and the arts.

They invite you to create a dance that shares with us what Transformation means to you but there’s plenty of inspiration available. MK Gallery will be holding special Let’s Dance sessions at their fun and friendly Saturday Studio events, which can be booked.
