Cultural Providers needed for CPD in Dunstable

Dunstable Icknield Lower School are looking for three Cultural Providers to deliver CPD to the teaching staff -15 teachers and 15 teaching assistants.

These new skills and creative teaching techniques will help them to explore the personal, social and emotional aspects of the curriculum. In particular, they hope to improve the social skills of a challenging Year 2 cohort of 60 pupils with a range of behavioural needs.

The basis of the CPD program would be for teaching staff to better engage these pupils and improve their listening skills, team working skills and empathy.

Ideally, Icknield Lower School are looking for Providers who have experience of delivering CPD to teachers or have a strong training and facilitation background. They are particularly interested in the art forms of drama, visual art and music for this commission but are open to other art forms too.

This CDP program would run during the 2018/19 academic year with each Provider delivering 3 hour INSET day on 29th October. In addition, the Provider would be required to also deliver one Twilight session half way through their chosen term for the Year 2 team, to help them refinenewly learned skills and incorporate them into lesson planning.

It is expected that the Provider will also have to undertake some preparation by meeting with staff in order to plan this CPD effectively.

Resources available will be the school hall, classroom and playground.

This opportunity is open to all Culture Challenge providers and we anticipate fees per provider to range between £200 – £250 for CPD, prep time and one mid-term twilight session. The school are very open to all interesting and engaging ideas.

To express your interest please email your response to this brief to AileneG@bedfordcreativearts.org.uk detailing your proposed CPD session. The deadline for expressions of interest is 12th October.
