Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Artist who has experience working on community art projects and working with young people. We are looking for the artist to work with the community to create an interactive programme of artistic work that can be displayed/ projected on an ongoing basis on dedicated screens within the newly developed Dunstable Leisure Centre via a lightbox or projector.

Central Bedfordshire Council is keen for the artist to create work which has a strong digital element, perhaps consisting of digital art, visual art which can be exhibited digitally, or even a combination of both.

The work is an exciting opportunity to reflect local culture, heritage and distinctiveness, contribute to creating a sense of place, compliment the building design and décor, and support corporate objectives and centre outcomes. It is expected that the contract value will be c. £10-£15,000.

Central Bedfordshire Council request that you confirm your registration and interest by sending an email to Procurement@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk and using the title ‘Interest in project – CBC-0866-H-LP  Artist Commission: Dunstable Leisure Centre’ so that you can be ‘attached’ to the project and will then be able to download all the relevant documentation.

Publication of the project is expected for 2nd May 2018 and will be published until 12 noon Friday 18th May 2018. Deadline for Receipt of tenders being 12 noon Friday 18th May 2018 and no late returns will be accepted.

The award of works is expected to be 23rd May 2018 with the project lasting until 30th April 2019. Full details of this will be released once you/ your company is attached to the project.
