Escalator seeks ambitious new voices in fiction (novel or short story)

The National Centre for Writing in Norwich are currently taking applications for their Escalator talent development scheme. Do you feel your voice is under-represented and would benefit from a structured period of support? Then Escalator want to hear from you.

The opportunity is open to emerging writers from the East of England – Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk – and Escalator particularly welcome applications from those who identify as coming from a working class background and/or haven’t undertaken formal creative writing qualifications. Selected writers will receive:

  • 1-2-1 mentoring
  • a writer’s retreat
  • workshops and development sessions
  • an industry showcase at Free Word

How to apply

For further information on the scheme and how to apply, visit the National Centre for Writing’s article.
