The Chellington Centre

Get outside the classroom, get inspired, and get motivated. Come to Chellington! Surrounded in beautiful Bedfordshire countryside this 12th century church has been transformed into a 30 bed youth residential centre. The centre can host day or overnight breaks. Schools can use the centre’s facilities, games and kitchen, with a main hall and 2 break out rooms. Activities can be added to a day like Forest Skills, Archery or Kayaking. The centre offers the space for groups to bond as a team, celebrate, or study, in the past we’ve hosted study groups, choir groups, and chess and art groups.

Schools have used the centre to have a mock evacuation as part of their WW2 project, had an adventure week away learning forest skills and kayaking, or had a reading week preparing for exams. Our team at Chellington are here to support you’re stay, we have activities, walks, risk-assessments available to make a stay and simple as possible to organise.

“Both of the activities that the group engaged in were fantastic. They provided the children and young people with a unique opportunity to try something new which otherwise would not be available to them. The facilitators were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and supportive, making the activities fun and enjoyable. The centre itself was lovely, large and accessible for all. It allowed the activities to run easily, and the children and young people to have fun playing games and socialising during their breaks and lunchtime. Overall, we are very happy with the service we received across all aspects of the day trip.” Alex Dencheva – CHUMS
