Open Call: Artists Sought for a Street Art Curriculum Enrichment Day

Daubeney Challenger Academy have an exciting opportunity for three visual artists, to undertake a Street Art Curriculum Enhancement Day, resulting in three permanent displays in the art room.

Daubeney Challenger Academy hopes to expose the students to positive professional creative role models, and create a welcoming art space for them to work in, whilst increasing their confidence and skill set in art.

The artists will work for one full day with the one group of 15 children, to create a street art inspired installation within the art department that incorporates the art of the children in a professional manner (e.g. their artwork is incorporated into a wider piece of art), and expresses at least one of the schools values of: Respect, Responsibility, Learning, Confidence and Honesty.

Daubeney are expecting the final outcome to include at least one of the following elements: Mural, Stencil, Spray Paint, Paste Up, but are open to other ideas and artforms.

This Curriculum Enhancement Day will take place on the 10th November, and the final piece to be installed in the week following the workshop. Refreshments and a school lunch will be provided. The total fee for this work, inclusive of VAT, delivery, prep, travel, materials and installation is £300.

This commission is funded by the Bedford + Milton Keynes Network for Collaborative Outreach and brokered by The Culture Challenge. The final decision will be made by Daubeney Challenger Academy. Expressions of interest should be made by emailing eleanorh@bedfordcreativearts.org.uk by 20th October, and applicants will be informed of selection within one working week.
