Paint Park by Alison Goodyear: 8th February -1st March

Paint Park

Saturday 8th February – Sunday 1st March | FREE

Throughout February MK Gallery’s Project Space will host Paint Park – a dynamic installation created by artist, Alison Goodyear, which explores the possibilities of ‘phygital’ painting, where digital and physical painting intersect.

Paint Park is an experimental installation of immersive virtual and physical paintings.  The works use physical materials combined with new technologies in an attempt to test what we understand as painting today. Paint Park blurs the lines and boundaries of traditional mark-making through the immersive qualities of virtual reality painting. This installation of both virtual and physical abstract paintings provides the opportunity for audiences to plunge into a fantastical realm, to dip in and out of real and digital environments, through an ‘emerging’ playground of paintings. Visitors are invited to don VR headsets and explore the works and have a go at creating one of their own (age 11+)

This project connects with MK Gallery’s Young Painter, delivered in partnership with Veritgo VR.
