We work with schools and community groups to create dance pieces for performance at public events. We offer 2 types of education workshops:

Full Day Workshops

These workshops are for all ages and levels from beginners’ upwards. Fun, friendly, interactive workshops introducing the key elements of Kathak and Indian culture. These workshops can also be theme based, such as:

  • Storytelling through Dance
  • Exploring Indian Festivals through Dance
  • Dance in Health
  • Dance and Inclusion
  • Contributing to Community Cohesion and Inclusion agendas

Residency Workshops

These workshops are designed for a minimum of 3 days to a maximum of 2 weeks. The company will work with a set number of students intensively during the duration. These workshops will be fun as well as educative. Students will be taught a routine while provising them with the history of Kathak. The residency will be concluded with a presentation by the teacher alongside her students.

“…A huge thank you for all your work with the Y4 production. You were an inspiration to us all – your eye for detail, your determination to succeed and above all your incredible energy. What we achieved in just four, disrupted days was unbelievable and we so enjoyed working with you. You approach everything with such enthusiasm combined with a sense of humour which we all need to fall back on sometimes! Urja, I really hope to work with you again as I so enjoyed your company and your professional advice…” – Margaret Craven, Priory School
