I have been teaching art and delivering workshops to children, young people and adults for almost ten years. I have worked in a variety of settings including primary and secondary schools, charitable organisations, community centres and art galleries. I specialise in working with people with additional needs such as autism, learning disabilities, mental health difficulties and acquired brain injuries, but I love working with mainstream provisions as well.

I have recently completed a two-year Masters qualification in Inclusive Arts Practice, which has focused my attention on effective communication and how to make art activities accessible to all.

My approach when working with groups is to create a fun, calm and reassuring atmosphere which allows people to feel comfortable to explore and experiment with materials, where individual choice is primary and there are no right or wrong answers. I encourage self-belief and confidence in people’s abilities which in turn allows them, and others, to see themselves as artists.

I love painting and drawing, as well as collage and mixed media projects. I am not afraid to get messy with materials (!), work outside in nature or on larger projects, as well as organising displays of the artwork produced.

Fee Structure:

£220 Full day workshop

£110 Half day workshop, morning or afternoon.

Materials are an extra cost (cost dependent on the activity and what materials the school already has, e.g. mosaics are more expensive than drawing)

Staff Training:

I can offer training or inset sessions for school teaching staff in various art mediums, providing creative ideas which they can build into their own curriculums or use to extend existing practices in art lessons. As well as previously working with several schools in Milton Keynes, I have recently worked with the Harpur Trust and The Higgins Musuem to deliver after school painting workshops for both primary and secondary school teachers.
