As a professional designer/maker who uses reclaimed materials to create works of functional art, has more than 12 years of teaching experience and holds a BA Hons degree in Textile design, I have many skills to offer for workshops and classes.

I can run sessions in the following:

  • Mixed media drawing
  • Sketch booking
  • Weaving
  • Embroidery
  • Printing
  • Felt making
  • Dorset Button making
  • Decoupage
  • Up-cycling
  • Basic knit & Crochet
  • Some Ceramics

I can also tailor sessions to a particular schools needs and design sessions based on a theme or idea. Past examples of this include decoration making, collage mixed media drawing, portraits, design a bag competition in conjunction with Queens Park in Bloom, reuse model making, revamping old crockery, decoupaging a memory box, t-shirt printing, vegetable printing & biscuit and sweets models for food theme.

As a local designer/maker who sells her works worldwide, I also have experience with current craft, fashion and art affairs. This often aids me in my teaching, especially with projects such as the Arts Award where my students projects have taken the shape of a small business, taking a product they have made through to exhibiting and selling, both in a physical and online space.

I have a wide experience in teaching and have run sessions and workshops at various organisations such as Local Schools, Colleges, Galleries & Museums, Arts Organisations such as The Adult Arts & Crafts Centre, Bedford Creative Arts, Bedford Borough Council, PLACE Home Education and Art & Design events such as Selvedge Fairs, Anthropologie Stores, Vintage & Eco Design Fairs by Hemingway and Oxford Fashion Week.

I also have experience of working with a wide range of ages and abilities, from young school children to teens, adults and the elderly. I currently run a regular Weaving course at Bedford Adult Arts & Crafts Centre and a blind & partially sighted art group there, as well as running sessions for local museums, schools and private workshops within my artists studio.
