Following the successful You, Me, Together project that took place in January 2018 across Milton Keynes, Artis and Milton Keynes Cultural Education Partnership have devised an extended mental health and wellbeing programme for schools that will incorporate a CPD programme for teachers.

This project is being delivered in collaboration with Arts & Heritage Alliance Milton Keynes, and supported by investment from Artswork.

As part of the programme, they want to promote partnerships between schools and cultural organisations across Milton Keynes to encourage long-term partnership working. During the CPD afternoon, individuals from MK cultural organisations will be encouraged to think about how they might be able to contribute to the Schools Connect programme or future partnerships with schools through their own venue or practice.

In addition, the CPD will offer MK cultural organisations some ideas and techniques for the facilitation of creative learning activities with children and young people.

Creative CPD Day – Monday 10th June – 1pm – 3:30pm

This half-day session will cover the following areas:

• Artis Specialists will demonstrate a number of creative approaches and activities to help support wellbeing in the classroom
• Teachers and cultural practitioners will explore drama, movement and music activities that allow children to express themselves and their emotions in a positive and safe environment.
• Cultural organisations from Milton Keynes will be able to provide insight and support for the teachers on the Schools Connect programme.
• Opportunities for teachers to network with representatives from Milton Keynes’ arts and cultural organisations and discuss ways they can contribute to the programme or future working.
